We have prepared for you a true immersion in the heart of the ancient Inca Empire. We will visit the various archaeological sites that make up the region, including the sites of Kenko, Tambomachay, Pukapukara and Sacsayhuaman, in the vicinity of Cuzco, and those of Pisac and Ollantaytambo, in the Sacred Valley. In Machu Picchu, several routes lead to spectacular spots, such as Inti Punku (Gateway of the Sun), Huayna Picchu and the Puente del Inka lookout. For adventurers, there is also the possibility of climbing to the top of the Machu Picchu mountain, with its 3,070m altitude.

8-day itinerary

Descriptive:

1st Day – São Paulo / Cusco

  • Your journey starts today! You must arrive at Guarulhos International Airport at least 3 hours in advance to board a flight to Cuzco, Peru. Arrival and transfer to hotel in Cuzco, where we will stay overnight.

  • We will have the rest of the day free to visit the Plaza das Armas, Inka Museum, the 12 Angles Stone.

  • Overnight at hotel. No meals included.

2nd Day - CUZCO

  • Breakfast at the hotel.

  • Acclimatization will be important for the good use of the trip. At 3,500 m altitude the air is thin (less oxygen) and some symptoms such as headache and shortness of breath are normal. We recommend light walks on the first day and at dinner avoid eating meat, as digestion is slower at high altitudes. Drink at least 2L/day of mineral water. It is essential for your acclimatization.

  • We will get to know a little about the city of Cuzco and the archaeological sites located in its surroundings.

  • We will visit the famous temple of Qoricancha, the center of worship of the Sun God of the ancient Incas. Afterwards, we will continue to the outskirts of the city to visit the main archaeological site in the region, Sacsayhuaman. In addition to being the largest, it also presents us with a beautiful view of the city and an extremely rich history. We will also see other sites, all impressive in their own way: Kenko, Tambomachay and Pukapukara (3,900 m altitude). In the afternoon, we'll be free to visit the city center: walk, visit churches, visit museums, shop and enjoy the day however you want!

3rd Day - CUZCO / SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS / PISAC

  • Today we will visit the Sacred Valley of the Incas, one of the highlights of our trip! We will leave Cuzco early to visit the archaeological sites of Pisac and Ollantaytambo, two monumental works of Inca architecture, located in the Sacred Valley of the Urubamba River, beginning of the grandiose Amazon River. During our trip, if there is time, we will visit a rich handicraft fair.

  • The Sacred Valley has one of the most beautiful landscapes in Peru, it will be a very pleasant day out. After the tour we will continue to our hotel in the Sacred Valley, where we will spend the night.

4th Day - SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS / SALAR DE MARAS / MORAY / OLLANTAYTAMBO

  • Today we will visit two very important places throughout the history of the Sacred Valley and extremely relevant to the peoples who currently inhabit the region: the Salar de Maras and Moray. Both attractions stand out for their peculiar and impressive scenic beauty, pleasing photography lovers, who are constantly in search of stunning landscapes to record. More than in photos, these landscapes are registered in our memory.

  • In the Salar de Maras, we find the famous salt mines, which paint the scene in white. Explored from the period of the Incas to the present day, the Salar de Maras is a region of undeniable historical relevance.

  • Our next destination, Moray, is also a treat for the eyes. There, we will visit the magnificent circular terraces of Moray, a true open-air laboratory, where the Incas adapted plants to new climates. The agricultural technology found in Moray evidences the high development of agriculture in the Inca Empire. When we finish our tour, we will return to the hotel to enjoy the rest of the day freely.

  • See the ancient ruins of Pinkuylluna Mountain Barns, an Inca structure used to store grain. Leaning precariously against the side of a steep mountain, the ruins offer panoramic views of one of the most iconic landscapes in the world. Take a moment to admire the terraced warehouses, supposedly built in the 15th century by Emperor Pachacuti and used to protect and preserve food from heat and animals.

5th Day – SACRED VALE / FORTALEZA

  • In the Ollantaytambo complex, located on the hill that dominates the town, there are buildings such as the Temple of the Sun and its gigantic monoliths: the Mañaracay or Salón Real (Royal Hall), the Incahuatana and the Baños de la Princesa (Princess Baths) . At the top, a fortress stands out, with a series of carved stone terraces, built to protect the valley from possible invasions by ethnic groups that came from the jungles. One of the best preserved areas extends north of Hanan Huacaypata square: a total of 15 groups of houses built on carved stone walls.

6th Day – SACRED VALE / AGUAS CALIENTES / MACHU PICCHU

  • Today we will depart towards the great attraction of our trip: Machu Picchu, the Lost City of the Incas.

  • We will take an original 10Km Inca trail to Aguas Calientes, a small town also called Machu Picchu Pueblo.

  • Overnight at hotel. Breakfast included.

7th Day - ÁGUAS CALIENTES / MACHU PICCHU / CUZCO

  • In the village we will take the bus that takes us to Machu Picchu.

  • We will calmly explore the region, delving deep into the history of one of the most spectacular civilizations on the planet. After our visit, we will return by bus to Aguas Calientes and an afternoon free for a city tour.

  • After check-out we will take a train transfer to Ollantaytambo
